In 1981, Lorene expanded her horizons by doing session work in the studio with Elder Buster Simmons (now Bishop) and The Disciples of Truth. This experience gave her many opportunities to sing with many groups and directed choirs. Working with Yolanda King; Randy Jones and the UMD Gospel Choir; St. Paul UFW Community Choir; Rev. Keith Pringle and Joshua Nelson as one of the Kosher Gospel Singers just to name a few.
According to Lorene, the most exciting moment in her life, besides three successful bids for a seat on the Irvington Board of Education, was the birth of her son, Calvin Maurice. “Calvin has definitely taught me to real love is possible. He’s the love of my life and my pride and joy!
In 2003, Lorene received Chaplain License for the United Chaplain International Worldwide Outreach (UCIWO) and later that year ordained by World Gospel Musical Association (WGMA) to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In conclusion, Lorene claims, Singing is my personal worship for God. I love the Lord with my whole heart and desire is to please Him, acknowledging him in everything. I want God to say Thats my Girl!!!
